At popievintage, every single piece goes through a thorough authentication and selection process before being listed for sale. We believe that buying vintage luxury should be a confident, joyful experience — not a gamble.

how we authenticate each piece

label & hardware verification. We carefully examine every label, lining, button, zipper, and hardware detail. Each designer has their own distinct signatures — font styles, label placements, stitching techniques — that evolve over time. We cross-reference these against archival references and our knowledge of each house's production history.

construction & fabric analysis. Authentic luxury vintage pieces are built differently. We assess the quality of the fabric, the precision of the stitching, the weight of the material, and the finishing details — all of which tell the story of a genuine garment.

in-depth research. For runway and archival pieces, we conduct thorough research to identify the exact collection, season, and year of each garment. When possible, we source original show images, press archives, or auction records to document the piece's history.

what we will never do

We will never knowingly sell a piece we have doubts about. If we cannot verify the authenticity of an item with confidence, it does not make it onto the site — full stop.

condition transparency

Every listing includes a detailed condition description and photographs of any imperfections. We do not hide flaws. Our goal is for you to know exactly what you are receiving before you place your order.
